Yardley Soap

Don't know why I am thinking of soap today, but...when I think of something refreshing, I think of Yardley soap. It has a nice fragrance and leaves your skin feeling smooth. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

The year is coming to a close...time for new beginnings...

The year is coming to a close. Have you reached your goals? If not, think of the new year and your ability to begin again. A lot of times when we aim high...we usually hit a least a few or more balls in the park.

I accomplished a few minor things in my life this year...new friends, losing 10 pounds, and getting a job in the art field. My goal for next year is to be a mover and a shaker. I still managed to procrastinate too much, but towards the end, I stepped it up a notch and watched things happen. I can only imagine what could have happened if I started earlier.

As far as weight loss...I had my ups and downs, but I will not give up. I will be starting all over again after the holidays.

Jelly Fish

Jelly Fish at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

This past weekend, I enjoyed the day snapping pictures at the Aquarium with my family & friend. I was captivated by the Jellies. I left the South and came to the big city for the summer (back to my hometown). I am here to make my dreams come true...I have an appointment at the school of my dreams, next month. This is my year to just---go for it. This is a part of the end of...my procrastination. Still working that out (procrastination that is), had a few bumps a long the way - but I'm not giving up.

Breaking Barriers

For hundreds of years, no-one could beat the four-minute-mile barrier in track-in-field. It was said to be impossible. Until Roger Bannister made sports history...he refused to let that be a barrier in his mind...he did it...he broke the record. After that, hundreds of people were able to do it, too! What stopped other people from breaking this record for hundreds of years??? All of a sudden others were able to do what they couldn't do before. So, the lesson is...don't let your mind be a barrier. Don't let your dreams go by and let people tell you what you can't do.

I read about this in Chapter 4 of Joel Osteen's book, "Your Best Life Now...7 Steps to Living at Your Full Potential".

Azaleas

One thing I love about spring is Azaleas. I am also reminded that summer is approaching and I have not completed my weight loss goal. I kind of fell of the weight loss wagon. I have maintained my 10 pounds that I lost, but, that is about it...I'm about to get serious, again. I am getting up and getting something started...are you with me...let's do it.

Japan Earthquake

My heart goes out to the people of Japan. I am still in disbelief of the catastrophic events that have taken place. There are a number of different ways to help - the Red Cross is always one of those organizations to donate money...I was surprised to find that - Facebook's Cityville game is also participating in donations for relief efforts.

Mind exercise

When we think of exercise, we normally think of the body. I have been neglecting my mind, lately. It needs a workout. I was reading Sadami's Graffiti blog today and it made me think about a time in my life when I wrote without grammatical errors. I need to get back to that. I also need to spend time expanding my vocabulary. I am so thankful for blogging diversity. I enjoy all of your blogs...just wanted to say thanks to everyone for being such an inspiration in my life.

Red Panda

San Diego Zoo.org is good research website. My son is studying the Red Panda for his research assignment. The Red Panda looks like a cross between a fox and a raccoon. What a great website full of information. Check out the link below, if you are interested.

Grand Turk Photos at Frommer's - Colorful buildings in Cockburn on Grand Turk Island, Turks & Caicos

One thing that I love about the Caribbean is the ocean breeze and the brilliant colors that is seen in the architecture. Can't you feel the warmth off the ocean...I am thinking about warm weather (of course) and planning my trip to the Islands for the end of the year. Frommers has great destination ideas and information. If you are interested...check out this link.

Bil on Fox News from Bay Area Fellowship on Vimeo.

I thought the Bay Area Fellowship Church video would be a perfect post for a Sunday. I really enjoy watching this pastors sermons on TV. I came across this one today, just searching the internet. This is a giveaway from last year...very interesting.
